Big Bands evolved in the 1920's in the USA where they enjoyed incredible popularity for many years. Remember the greats like Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey and Harry James? Because of their great success, German bands emerged such as those of James Last, Max Greger and Bert Kaempfert. You could also discover superior big bands in the Netherlands and the UK such as Willy Schobben, The Skymasters, Ted Heath and Syd Lawrence, to name just a few.Over the years, Big Bands became very popular in the Netherlands, and there were many fine big band players coming from the Netherlands. Today we can thank musicians like Harry Connick, Jr, Brian Setzer and also Dutch Swing Fever for a remarkable “return of the Big Bands”.

Dutch Swing Fever feat. Denise Jannah at 'Jazz op Zuid 2009'!
“This woman can make you dream, cry, and fall in love. What more could you desire…” (The Music Advocate) “Quite simply, Denise Jannah is one of the best jazz singers to come along in the 25 years I’ve been writing about music.” (Award winning critic and jazz author Gary Giddins in the “Village Voice”). In 1994 won zij haar eerste Edison.
